The Principles for Responsible Investment Academic Network's primary research objective is to anticipate and further understand emerging trends in responsible investment, particularly ESG integration, shareholder engagement, the Universal Owner theory, and Emerging Market dynamics. To strengthen networks of scholars, policymakers, practitioners and students interested in responsible investment and carry out its objectives, the Academic Network will sponsor and host conferences, seminars, workshops and presentations and promote the research of its membership. 

The first annual Academic Network conference co-hosted with ECCE in Maastricht serves as not only a launch for the network website but also as a formative session for clarifying and defining research threads that are of core importance to the further development of responsible investment research. Outcomes from the conference and details on the initial research threads of the network will be made available in the coming months.
